British Shorthairs are descended from Roman cats crossed with native English wild cats. British Shorthairs became popular in Australia in the late sixties and seventies. British Shorthairs first competed in a cat show in 1871. British Shorthairs come in many different color combinations, perhaps the most famous being the British Blue.
